Cellular genes that are required for HCV replication represent an alternative target for small-molecules to control viral replication.



Another goal of the Tibotec HCV program is the discovery of inhibitors that specifically block cellular proteins important in HCV pathogenesis. Cellular assays, functional genomic techniques and bioinformatic analysis of cellular pathways are combined to further characterize the human proteins involved in HCV replication.
