It is important for us to understand all aspects of patients' needs. That's why we engage and collaborate with patient organisations, who play an important role to inform, support, and assist patients. As a company, we learn from this interaction, and that helps us in the development of new treatments and in providing useful information.



It is our goal to ensure that these relationships and partnerships proceed within a principled framework of mutual respect and learning, integrity, independence, and transparency.



This framework has been described in the "Code Of Practice On Relationships Between The Pharmaceutical Industry And Patient Organisations", as developed by the European Federation Of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (EFPIA) in collaboration with pan-European patient organisations. Our company adheres to these principles.



Its key components are the following :



1. The independence of patient organisations, in terms of their political judgement, policies and activities, will be assured.

2. All partnerships between patient organisations and the pharmaceutical industry will be based on mutual respect, with the views and decisions of each partner having equal value.

3. The pharmaceutical industry shall not request, nor will patient organisations undertake, the promotion of a particular medicine.

4. The objectives and scope of any partnership will be transparent. Financial and non- financial support provided by the pharmaceutical industry will always be clearly acknowledged.

5. The pharmaceutical industry welcomes broad funding of patient organisations from multiple sources.



In order to facilitate collaboration, Tibotec has developed the following guidelines:

• A Review process by a multi-disciplinary committee to evaluate requests for funding or collaboration.
• Disclosure of the funding provided to patient organisations. The purpose of our disclosure of contributions is to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to transparency.
• Definition of the types of activities that can be supported.
